TLDR After almost 6 years of coaching together through Pybites, we’ve decided to sunset the PDI and PDM Programs. We’re choosing to focus on our unique strengths and provide our own coaching services outside of Pybites: We’ll be better coaches when we each go deep on our own thing. Most importantly, and to clarify, Pybites isn’t going away. The blog, the community, and the coding platforms (Python and Rust bites) are all staying as is. We’ll still be committed to supporting these products and being present within the community. What this does unfortunately mean is that we’re also discontinuing the weekly newsletter and…

  • When Bob and I first started Pybites, there was no way I could have imagined it’d grow to what it is today. Launching our first products was a massive moment for us both, not just because these were ways to sustain the business, but because we were actually HELPING people. People were coming to us and utilising our services to better themselves and their communities. The desire to help people and make some real change in the world become one of our core values: Lifting People Up. This value system has led to our very first partnership. The excitement we…

  • We are excited to announce that we’ve extended our Newbie Bites from 25 to 50 Python exercises! 🎉 The importance of exercising when learning how to code 💡 We’re passionate about this new batch of exercises because they require active engagement, which is crucial for learning how to code. Passive methods like reading books or watching videos don’t help concepts click or stick. Our exercises involve writing code that is validated with pytest. This immediate feedback helps you understand mistakes and learn more effectively. You’ll encounter errors, re-think your approach, and practice deliberately. Why double the number of Newbie exercises?…

  • Today Pybites turns 6 years 🎉😎 We could never have envisioned that our end-of-2016 “Python blog side project” would grow out into a fully fledged business serving thousands of people worldwide! Here are 10 highlights / lessons learned from our journey so far: 1. Don’t procrastinate, implement We had been chatting for many years about ideas and things we could do to add value, but on that 19th of Dec 2016 we actually took action. Nothing counts till you implement! Day 1-10 of Pybites’ existence was literally writing Python articles (scroll down), nothing more, nothing less 💪 We had to find…

It’s finally here … our new Typer learning path! Where? On our CodeChalleng.es platform, check it out here: Typer is an amazing library for building Command Line Interfaces (CLIs). Leveraging Python type hints you can build great command line apps with relatively little code. In this learning path we’ll have you practice the main features of the library through 10 Bite exercises: These exercises (and our practical platform approach) will have you learn the Typer framework inside out. The exercises are of increasing complexity and you’re not allowed to start the next one until you’ve solved the current one. Two…
