PDI for Veterans Overview

PDI for Veterans is a coaching program designed specifically for veterans looking to transition into tech careers. This initiative is not just about learning to code; it’s about bridging the gap between military service and the tech industry, ensuring veterans have the support, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive in their new careers.

The program offers a comprehensive approach to introducing veterans to the world of technology, with a special focus on Python programming, one of the most versatile and sought-after skills in today’s job market.

Beyond the fundamentals of coding, we provide tailored coaching and resources to help veterans understand how their military experience can translate into valuable assets in tech roles.

Participants will gain insights into navigating tech interviews, the nuances of being a veteran in the tech industry, and a clear understanding of essential tech concepts such as APIs, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Git.

Through a combination of hands-on learning, personalized coaching, and community support, our aim is to empower veterans to confidently step into tech roles, leveraging their unique backgrounds to make meaningful contributions to the industry.

What is the PDI for Veterans Coaching Program?

PDI (Pybites Developer Initialization) for Veterans is a 6-week 1:1 coaching program designed to take
Veterans from zero technical and coding experience to a capable Python developer, ready for the tech workforce.

I have no experience with programming / Python. Is this program for me?

Absolutely! PDI is tailored for beginners. Even if you are overwhelmed with basic Python concepts or stuck in
tutorials, our structured onboarding and focused content will guide you. Even if you’ve never touched Python before, this program will get you from zero to being able to develop scripts and complete apps in Python.

This might be too beginner for me. What other program(s) do you have?

If you’re intermediate / advanced in your Python skills, check out our Pybites Developer Mindset (PDM) program here.

How is PDI helpful to Veterans?

While PDI for Veterans does focus on Python, it’s tailored for people with zero background or experience in a Tech role. Many Veterans fall into this category. Furthermore, the program support Veterans with
transitioning into the tech workforce by providing insights and experiences from Veterans who have already made the transition into tech.

What is the price of PDI for Veteran and modes of payment?

A program like this is costly to run but we offer a heavily discounted price of USD $2,500 for Veterans who are paying for the program out of their own pocket. Corporate sponsorship makes this highly subsidised price possible.

How is this different from other Python courses out there?

Our edge lies in our focused content to prevent tutorial paralysis, 1:1 coaching sessions with professionals,
and a results-driven approach that takes you from zero to coding in just weeks.

How does the 1:1 coaching work?

You will be paired with an experienced and dedicated Python developer / coach. Your coach will provide you guidance, answer your questions, and offer feedback on your progress throughout the 6-week program.
This is either by call, email or via GitHub repo pull requests and issues.

Will I get to work on real-world projects?

Yes, depending on your speed of progress 70% or more of the program is project building. You will work on
hands-on capstone projects that allow you to implement and practice what you’ve learned.

Is the program only about coding?

While coding is a significant part, we also emphasize the mindset and tactics of successful developers. We
believe in a holistic approach, combining technical skills with the right mindset and productivity coaching. There is also significant focus on the Veteran to Corporate work transition.

How can I enroll in the PDI for Veterans program?
